Happy Halloween Friends!
What a fun day today is going to be. Do you have the kids costumes ready? Do they dress up for school? I don’t know why I don’t remember, but feel like we didn’t dress up for school, but rather kept it for the night, but who knows. Confession, I don’t remember a lot of those little details of growing up as I probably should.
Well I’m happy to report both kids costumes came in the mail yesterday, so we are ready for tonight!
Quick funny story. So DNH Boy’s Daycare informed us that they were having a Halloween Party yesterday(Wednesday) instead of today to make it easier on parents with costumes and not having them pooped by the time they got home. Pretty good idea now that I’m thinking about it.
Well, so you can imagine how hectic life has been since I gave my notice at work? My brain has been everywhere but up. So fast forward to yesterday morning and we’re all busy getting lunches made, breakfast consumed, and the hubs is about to walk out the door with DNH Boy to take him to Daycare and it dawns on me. OH NO, he’s supposed to have a costume. Well his hasn’t come in the mail, so what to do?
Ok, so let’s get something out in the open. I consider myself some what crafty! But when it comes to sewing costumes and that sort of thing, I’m pretty sure the craft fairy skipped right on over my brain. Not to say I won’t try them in the future, but for today, they will be purchased.
In any case, I’m starting to freak out because we haven’t gotten his outfit yet, so I act fast. Knowing how much DNH Boy LOVES BALLS — I had been thinking about how fun it would be if he was a ball. So I think back to my days as a California Raisin (yes, I was a raisin) and think… oh my gosh, I’ll put a trash bag on him, fill it up with stuffing, draw lines on it like a baseball and it will be so cute.
Well my friends it was anything but cute! My dear friend who’s daycare DNH Boy goes to posted pictures last night of the group and their party and can I tell you that I was laughing so hard. Both in humor and of embarrassment. UMMM… My kid is walking around at the Halloween party in a trash bag. Poor guy! I have one picture and believe me I’m super embarrassed, but hey, when you have less than 3 minutes, it was all I thought of. Sure hope it doesn’t scar DNH Boy!
