Tulip Heads
The first step is to draw the U shape for the cup of the tulip. For the top of the flower draw a few wavy lines.
The next step is to draw two slightly curved vertical lines from the top of the flower to the bottom of the flower. These will create the first petal and second petal. Then add a few additional inner lines from the bottom of the wavy top of the flower petals to the two vertical lines from the previous step. This creates inner petals.
Stem of Your Flower
For the simple shape of the step, draw a vertical line at the bottom center of the flower. Then draw a second vertical line narrowing slightly towards the bottom.
Next is to draw the tulip leaves starting from the bottom of the stem. Start an inch or two below the bottom of your stem and draw up and then curve to the right stopping slightly off from the bottom right side of the tulip bud. Create a point and then draw a curved leaf back down to the starting point. Then draw another leaf off the left side of the stem to a similar place from the other side.

The last step is to outline the shape of the tulip with a black marker on the final lines and erase any extra lines you had while sketching.
Coloring Your Tulip Drawing
If you choose to color your drawing more like tulip coloring pages, consider using vibrant and bright colors to capture the beauty of this flower. Reds, pinks, yellows, and purples are all common tulip colors but feel free to get creative with your different colors.
