Mardi Gras Fun Facts

Mardi Gras otherwise known as Fat Tuesday and Shrove Tuesday is a worldwide day of celebration day as Christians head into Lent. Ash Wednesday (the next day) is the beginning of Lent which is 40 days of prayer and fasting.

Mardi Gras can fall on any Tuesday between February 3rd and March 9th. Mardi Gras celebrations include parades, wearing masks and Mardi Gras beads, and eating traditional foods (fatty foods) like gumbo, crawfish, and a king cake,

The biggest celebration and mardi gras parade in the world is in New Orleans (NOLA). A mardi gras tradition (and a law in NOLA) is you must wear a mask if you are on a float. So you are sure to see each person wearing a beautiful mask on a float as well as any Mardi Gras festive celebration.

Happy Mardi Gras Coloring Sheets
