Simple Cheese Ball
There is something about the comfort feeling of a simple cheese balls. The cheese is smooth and delicious and one of our all time favorite holiday party recipes.
Growing up, my grandmother would serve a simple cheese ball at every occasion.
Whether it was a holiday, birthday party, or even on game day. She would bring that cheesy rich ball out as the party appetizer and we would all get a little giddy.
Cheese Ball Ingredients
- 1 – 8oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 – 4oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
- ¼ cup finely chopped green pepper
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped shallot
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
How to Make Cheese Balls Recipe Easy
- Mix cream cheese, pineapple, green pepper, shallot and salt together in a mixing bowl or on the slowest level of the electric mixer.
- Cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Shape the mixture into ball and roll in chopped nuts.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Ready to serve with crackers!

Can you freeze a cheese ball?
Yes, you can freeze a cheese ball. Prior to rolling the ball in the chopped nuts, wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and then place it in a freezer safe ziplock. The ball can be frozen up to a month. Thaw overnight, and roll in chopped nuts approximately an hour or two before serving.
What to serve with your cheese ball?
In all honesty, cheese balls are delicious all on their own. As with any dip, they are best with a delicious cracker or chip.
I prefer a herbed cracker over a buttery cracker, but both are delicious. You can also consider serving with pita chips or tortilla chips. I also really enjoy enjoy cucumber slices and a nice veggie tray as well.

Easy Cheese Ball Recipe
Ingredients
