Easter Dessert Ideas
Easter is a great time to come together as a family and celebrate the Lord rising from the grave. If your family is anything like mine, then after church, we celebrate the incredible holiday with lots of family, food, and fun.
It should come as no surprise, that dessert is my favorite. There are so many fun dessert ideas for Easter.
This Easter is a bit different as we are not able to be with our family, so I thought I would make an easy dessert that still feels festive, but is easy to make with what you may already have in the pantry.
Supplies to Marshmallow Skewers Ideas
- 24 regular-size marshmallows
- White candy melts or vanilla-flavored almond bark
- Yellow candy melts
- Green candy melts
- Pink candy melts
- Blue candy melts
- Purple candy melts
- Easter sprinkles
- Piping bags
- Bamboo skewers or treat sticks
How to Make Marshmallow Pops
Lined baking sheets with waxed paper.
Press four to five marshmallows onto a skewer or lollipop stick with a twisting motion. Lay on waxed paper prepared baking sheet.
Melt white chocolate or almond bark in a double boiler or in a microwave-safe bowl. Make sure not to overheat. If the melted chocolate gets too hot, it will seize. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to make the melted candy pourable.
Pour melted milk chocolate over the marshmallows, and tap the stick allowing the excess to drop back into the bowl. For best results, scrape the candy from the bottom (the stick side you place on the waxed paper.) Allow to dry completely.
If easier, you can dip the marshmallows into the bowl and then slide them onto the skewer.
In separate bowls, melt each of the colored chocolates. If the candy gets too hot, it will seize. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to make the melted candy pourable.
Decorating Easter Marshmallows
Transfer melted candy to piping bags, keeping the colors separated. One at a time, snip the corner from the piping bags and drizzle-colored candy melts over the marshmallows. While the candy is still wet, add sprinkles as desired.
Allow the marshmallows to rest on waxed paper until set before packaging or serving. Before removing the marshmallow pops from the waxed paper, cut along the sides with a knife.
Best if store marshmallow pops in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
What I love about these sweet chocolate pops is that they feel like a fun spin on the Easter peeps. I sure hope you enjoy these as much as we do. Happy Easter!
