Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
Dr. Seuss was an American author who wrote and illustrated over 60 children's books. Some of the most popular books include The Cat and That Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and Oh The Places You'll Go.
His birthday is March 2nd and is celebrated each year in schools along with National Read Across America Day.
We love celebrating Dr. Seuss at our house and we even had a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party. One of our favorite Dr. Seuss Quote Printables is "The more you read, the more things you'll know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go."
Word Search Printables For Kids
There is something so fun for kids about word searches. There is of course the educational aspect of increasing word recognition and vocabulary, but there is also fun.
Word search puzzles are fun for kids to compete against their friends on finding the words. They can have some fantastic learning facts and information on a certain topic, like Dr. Seuss.
Also, they are a lot of fun to do all by yourself.
How to Play a Word Search
The general idea of a word search is that you have a box of letters. Located on the same sheet is a list of words that are hidden in the box of letters. The words typically all fit within a theme, like Dr. Seuss or March in our March Word Search.
There is a difficulty level of the puzzles. The easier and more beginning puzzles will typically have shorter words and they are typically found in the puzzle going right to left or up and down.
The difficulty increases as the word length increases. The more difficult puzzles also tend to have more letters and the words are hidden forwards, backward, up, down, and diagonally.
Once you've found the word, you can highlight the word or circle it. The object is to find all the words on the list.
