Miramonte Resort
As an adventurous family, we are always on the lookout for fun and HAPPY getaway spots. Due to temperatures in the desert during the Summer months, it can deter some families from visiting, but as far as we're concerned we love heading to the desert during the Summer months because its less crowded, cooling off in the pool is always fun, and Summer is when we have less obligations (sports, school, etc.) giving us a chance to really relax and have fun.
Our drive out from North San Diego only took us two hours. We certainly felt the heat difference as soon as we stepped out the car, but were greeted into a beautiful and chilled lobby. The hotel lobby is a cool modern mid-century style design and all kinds of cool. Our standard double queen room was incredibly spacious and perfect for a family. If your family is anything like mine, we tend to take up space. 🙂

There are lots of fun activities around the resort. Lawn games, bikes, and even fun family friendly pool side movies (with Starlight Sip & Swim cocktails for the parents!) YES!!! They even have deals for outside activities like The Living Desert and Big Wheel Tours.
Our favorite part of the resort is the pool. Its big and refreshing and it has really fun pool floaties! I mean, what else can you ask for? Their cabanas were really the way to go when planning on staying at the pool all day. It comes with food and drink credit and a stocked mini fridge of waters and sodas.
Family Travel at Miramonte Hotel
It was perfect for our family to get out of the sun for a bit, grab a bite and even take a nap. For my foodie friends, you will not be disappointed. We were treated to delicious grapes and pistachio crusted goat cheese bites upon our arrival, as well as cookies and milk for the kids at turn down (or adults... no judging here).
Both restaurants on site were filled with delicious greens grown right on property and we even indulged in some ridiculously delicious pineapple ice cream bowl.
All in all, our trip was wonderful. We all came home sun-kissed and relaxed and so glad to have had the time away. I will say, that for those families who are looking for more activities than relaxation, I would recommend a weekend stay. The weekends tend to have more activities with the more guests.
We can't wait to visit Indian Wells and the Miramonte Resort & Spa again!
