How To Play Word Searches

To play a word search is generally a fairly simple concept. Simply download and print the puzzle below. Grab a pencil or marker and get started.

Included in each word search puzzle is a list of words based on the theme of the word search. For this word search, each of the words in the list is based on Winter.

You start by searching for each of the words within the puzzle. They are hidden in each of the puzzles going left to right, right to left, top to bottom, bottom to top, or diagonally.

How to search for a word in a word search?

There are a few great ways to search for words within a word search. We have found the easiest way is to start with the first letter of the word you are looking for.

Start at the top and with your finger or end of the pencil, go from left to right looking for that letter. Once you found that letter, see if the second letter is around that letter. If it is not, then continue to the right and then down row by row.

If you find the second letter going in a certain direction, continue going in that direction to make sure you find all the letters of that word.

Once you have found the word, you can either circle the word, highlight the word, or in some cases mark through the word.
