How To Draw a Horse Step-By-Step Instructions
Start by printing out the free Horse Drawing Step-by-Step Guide at the bottom of the post. Follow along with a sheet of paper and a pencil.

Start by drawing a wide oval at the bottom and two curved lines going up. This will be the base of the horse's head.

Add a curved shape on top for the hair on the horse's head. This makes your horse look cute and fun.

Draw two small leaf shapes on each side of the head for the ears. Make sure they point slightly outward.

From the bottom of the head, draw one long curved line down. This will start the horse's body and legs.

Add the other front leg by drawing another long shape next to the first one. Draw a small oval in the middle for the chest.

Draw the back legs using curved lines and add hooves at the bottom. Your horse should now be sitting.

Add the mane along the side of the head and draw a long, curved tail. These details make your horse look fluffy and fun.

Finish by drawing the eyes, nose, mouth, and hoof lines. Erase extra lines and color your horse any way you like.

The last step is to trace the light lines you drew in pencil with a pen or marker.

The final step is to color in your horse drawing.

Tips for Drawing a Horse
Drawing a horse can feel tricky at first, but breaking it down into simple steps makes it much easier and fun. Use these helpful tips to guide you as you draw your horse:
- Start with light sketch lines
Draw lightly with your pencil so you can easily erase and fix shapes as you build your horse. - Use simple shapes first
Begin with basic shapes like circles and ovals for the horse's head and body. This helps you get the proportions right before adding details. - Focus on the body shape
Horses have large bodies and long legs, so take your time shaping the body before moving on to smaller details. - Draw one step at a time
Follow each step slowly and don't rush. Building your drawing piece by piece will help it come together nicely. - Keep the legs simple
Horse legs can look complicated, so think of them as straight lines with small joints to start. - Add details last
Once your main shape is done, add the mane, tail, ears, and facial features. - Make it your own
You can give your horse fun details like spots, different mane styles, or even draw it in a field or barn setting. - Color your horse creatively
Horses can be brown, black, white, or even imaginary colors. Use crayons or markers to bring your drawing to life. - Practice and have fun
The more you draw, the better you'll get. Every horse you draw will look a little different, and that's part of the fun.
