    While spiders are fun to draw during Halloween and the month of October, they are fun insects to learn to draw all year round. This is a fun cartoon spider quick tutorial that is great for kids of all ages.

    Fun simple drawing guides like this spider drawing are a great way to learn to draw. Simple diagonal lines, vertical and horizontal lines, and curved and straight lines.

    Until they start going for it, they don't realize how freeing it can be and how easy it can be to create something with your own hand.

    Kinds of Spiders

    Did you know there are more than 45 thousand different kinds of spiders in the world? Along with snakes, spiders are one of the most feared animals/insects in the world. It has been said that millions of people are arachnophobic (fear spiders).

    They are intriguing insects in that with so many variations, they vary in spider body size, spider legs, body, and hair. The majority of spiders in the world are harmless creatures and help control the insect population.

    The two more popular harmful spiders are the black widow and brown recluse which are both found in the united states.

    Regardless, these creepy crawlers are fun to draw, especially around Halloween.

    How to Draw a Spider Step By Step

    Below we're sharing an easy step-by-step tutorial drawing lesson using basic shapes. Don't forget to print out the printable spider drawing tutorial at the bottom and follow along.

    Grab a piece of paper, and a pencil, and let's draw this cute spider. Here are the simple steps to how to draw a spider.

    step 1 for drawing a spider

    The first thing is to draw a small circle towards the bottom of your paper. This will be your spider face.

    step 2 to drawing a spider

    The next step is to draw another slightly larger circle above the smaller circle from the previous step. Overlap the two circles slightly. The larger circle will be the spider's body.

    Next, add two large circles at the top of the spider body. Add the face to the spider at this time too. We added two small circles as eyes and a smile.

    Add a few more circles to the body of the spider. Then it's on to drawing the spider's front legs. Draw the first legs with simple short lines out from where the head of the spider meets the body of the spider.

    Curve slightly from there and draw another short line. Round out the bottom of the legs and follow and draw two additional lines back to the body to create a slender leg.

    Draw two legs similar in shape to the side of the spider.

    Draw on the back two legs similar to the other legs.

    The last step is to erase all the extra lines and go over the outside lines with a darker pencil or marker.

    A fun additional step is to color in the spider. It may even be fun to add a spider web drawing behind your spider.
