Spider's Web Fun
Do you have a spider-fan at your house? We puffy heart those kiddos that love insects and learning, and coloring (our fun spider coloring page), and are all about them.
For those sweet kiddos, this is great any time of year. For the rest of them, this tends to be more of a fun Halloween activity. Whatever the case, we're here for the spider and spider web fun.
Spider webs are truly intricate structures. Works of art if you think about it. While we're showing simple steps to drawing a cool spider web, keep in mind a more realistic web does not contain perfectly straight lines or perfectly even spaces.
When drawing free hand (without tools like rulers) your lines aren't going to be perfect and that is okay and encouraged. Have fun and don't be too hard on yourself. And if anything it will be a more realistic spider web than not.

How To Draw a Spider Web Step by Step
Here are the easy step-by-step instructions for an easy web drawing lesson! This is a fun activity for both younger kids and older ones.
The first thing to do when starting to draw is to decide the orientation of your paper. When the longer end of the paper is on the top and bottom, that means your paper is horizontal. When the longer side is on each of the side, then your paper is vertical.
For this spider web drawing, we are going to create it in more of a square, so feel free to orient your paper in whichever direction you like.
Drawing the Cross lines of the Spider Web
The first step is to draw a dot in the center of your paper. This will be the center of your spider web. Once you have your center you are going to draw two diagonal lines crossing at the center dot.
The next step is to draw another line through the center dot in the open space. Think of it as if this was pizza and you were cutting pieces of the pizza. The lines go from one side to the opposite side and going all different ways.
Draw the last line through the last open space. Remember, these do not need to be exactly the same length, nor do they need to be evenly spaced. It will look more like a real spider web than cartoon-like.
If you are looking for a more exact spider web start by drawing a horizontal line from side to side. Then a vertical line from top to bottom. The remaining two lines should be drawn diagonal through the center making an X.
Next is to draw a curved line starting on one line creating a small arch curving in towards the center to the next line. Continue and draw the next arch and the next making small arcs around to the last line.
Drawing the Curved Lines Within the Web
When you get back to the first line, you want to create an arc from the last line to the first line, under the first arch you made. Then continue under the first set of arches to create a fun pattern. They do not have to be evenly spaced, and can even meet up on the line with the curved line on the outside of it.
Continue around from each line to create a second layer of curved lines of the spider web.
Make your way around each of the lines moving toward the middle.
Once you get to the middle, add any extra curved lines along the outside till you feel your spider web is complete.
Once you have the best spider web look you want, outline it with a black marker. That is of course if you are drawing on a white piece of paper. If you are wanting to draw it on black paper, use a white pencil to start and go over it with a white pen.
Viola, you have your own spider web drawing!
