This How to Draw a Vampire tutorial is so fun for the kids to learn the easy step-by-step drawing lessons on how to make their own vampire drawing.

Scoot over cats and bats. This year, our Halloween decor will be all about the blood-suckers in black capes with razor-sharp fangs! These are great fun throughout the month of October.

Vampire crafts make an excellent spooky addition to Halloween decor. If you're looking for a fun Halloween craft to do with kids, try my Vampire Paper Plate Craft. It's creative, easy, and a lot of fun.

Moving on, today, we'll learn how to draw a vampire. This drawing tutorial is easy to follow and extremely customizable. You can make the vampires look creepy or funny all you want.

What's more, this craft is for everyone. It's suitable for kids who enjoy fiction as well as adults looking to improve their drawing skills.

Ready to draw a simple vampire? Let's get going.

    Decorating the Vampire Drawing

The best part about drawing lessons is that they leave the decoration bit to you. This means that you can add as many small details as you like to your vampire's face and body without worrying about how it will turn out.

Try any of these cool ideas:

    • Draw the eyes with glow-in-the-dark red paint for a classic vampire look.
    • Make pointy ears and a long, sharp nose for an extra scary vampire.
    • Sprinkle the vampire fangs with a little glitter to make them sparkle.
    • Make batwings or a cape for your vampire.
    • Draw spooky trees and graves in the background to make it look like your vampire is lurking in a graveyard.
    • Draw animals like bats and cats next to your vampire for a more gothic look.

    Vampire Art Tips and Tricks

Drawing vampires is fun, but if you want your artwork to look great, we recommend practicing. When it comes to drawing lessons, the more you practice, the better it gets. So, practice drawing curved lines and basic shapes beforehand. It'll add more finesse to your drawing.

You can also try different facial expressions on your vampire sketch. I usually look up a few reference pictures before deciding what will work best for me.

Always find a tutorial with easy and simple steps like this one. It'll make sure you don't give up midway. Collect all your supplies before you start drawing to avoid any irritating "Where's my eraser?" breaks.

If you're following a step-by-step guide, make sure you stick to it for the best results. If you're making a digital drawing, create a backup of your artwork just in case anything goes wrong.

    How To Draw a Vampire

Before you start drawing, we also want to make sure you have the right art supplies. Here are the drawing paper, and drawing pencils that we like to use.

So, print out the vampire tutorial, grab your drawing materials, find a comfy spot, and let's bring your cartoon style character to life on paper.

    Vampire's Head

step 1 Draw Head of Vampire

Start with the head of the vampire. Draw a long oval shape with a slightly curved upper part of the head. It should resemble an upside-down candy corn shape with a pointy chin.

    step 2 vampire drawing

Next, we're drawing the vampire's facial features. Add two small circles for the eyes, a large U shape for the nose, and then a simple smile for the vampire's mouth. Leave some room on his forehead.

    step 3 draw vampire face

Count Dracula had sharp teeth that showed outside his bottom lip, so draw two pointy teeth that point down on either side of his mouth. Another distinct feature of a vampire is their widow's peak, the way their hair comes down in the middle of their forehead in a v. So draw a big M shape starting around his eyes on his forehead. Then add to half circles above each eye and below the M for his eyebrows.

    step 4 draw vampire ears

In the next step, draw two pointy ears out each side of his head adding two swiggly lines inside each. Then add a bow tie to the lower part of the head.

    Vampire's Outfit

    step 5 draw vampire collar

Next, draw two sideways v shapes as the cuffs of the shirt. Then draw a long tie shape out the bottom of the bow tie. Add two small circles in the tie shape.

    step 6 draw vampire body

Next, draw two curved lines down from each side where the shirt collar meets the bow tie. Then connect them at the bottom with a jagged line.

step 7 how to draw a vampire

Draw two boot shapes out of the bottom of the vampire's cape.

step 8 vampire drawing for halloween

Add some bat shapes around your vampire drawing.

The final step is to go over the outline of the vampire with a black pen on the final lines and erase any unnecessary lines you had while sketching the vampire.

For the final details of your drawing, color it in. Grab any crayons, markers, or colored pencils, and bring your vampire to life!
