These bible crafts for kids are a great way for Sunday school lessons to be expressed through a fun craft, or a fun way to bring bible lessons to life through craft projects.
As an avid volunteer in children’s ministry, I try always to have crafts ready for the kids to create. Especially when VBS (vacation bible school) consumes a lot of the summer, it’s helpful to have crafts for children to do in the service, in their Sunday school classroom, or at home with their family.
I like to try out crafts with my kids who range from toddler to upper elementary, so I can see what adjustments may need to be made for the kids at church. For younger children in toddler classrooms, pre-making part of the craft can be helpful, older kids can do most of it on their own. My children love helping and they are some of the best assistants for children’s ministry.
Bible crafts are great visuals for telling the life of Noah, Moses, Daniel, Ruth, and of course the main man Jesus! Crafts can help make the bible lesson more personal for children also. When discussing Noah and the Ark, you can ask children questions about the animals and how God provided for them.
Church Crafts
My favorite crafts are window art type crafts. This summer, you can talk to the children about sharing the light of Jesus with the whole world and when they do an earth-themed craft, they can hang it on a window in their home and let the sun shine through it. Tissue paper is great for window art crafts. It’s thin enough to let the light shine through and sticks great to contact paper.
These bible crafts (with step-by-step instructions) can be great for children to get creative in Sunday school and bible crafts like these are a fun way to remember bible verses. You can always include the bible story scripture reference somewhere on or attached to the simple craft.
Resources that I like to keep on hand for bible crafts are your everyday basic craft supplies: construction paper, googly eyes, markers, tissue paper, paper plates, and glitter for shiny Christmas crafts.
