    This easy paper fox craft is a fun way to celebrate the cute animal for kids of all ages. We love this cute fox craft after reading the "Fantastic Mr. Fox" book by Roald Dahl.

    This fun activity is for kids of all ages. It's easy, quick to complete, and fun to customize. Plus, you only need a few craft supplies, so there is no need to break the bank.

    However, before we get started with our paper plate fox craft, let's learn a few things about foxes. It'll help you keep your kids intrigued and entertained as you work on the craft with them. Yep, it's a craft for the whole family!

    Use this cute fox craft to celebrate National Fox Day on September 17th.

    Foxes - The Cunning Forest Animals

    Why did the fox eat the rabbit? Because he was in the mood for some fast food! Hah! - Tell that to your kid, and watch them roll with laughter.

    • Foxes are from the dog family but have more in common with cats. For instance, their pupils are vertical, and they can retract their claws like cats do.
    • Foxes can see perfectly fine in the dark, so they hunt at night.
    • Foxes live in small families; mommy fox with her six cubs at most.
    • Foxes are friendly with humans; they even play with balls.
    • Foxes are super stinky!
    • Foxes are skilled Arctic animals, adapting to cold environments with their thick fur and furry paws.
    • These woodland creatures have exceptional hunting abilities, using their bushy tails for balance and communication.
    • Foxes are clever and known for their intelligence, using various techniques to catch prey and survive in their natural habitats.

    Decorating the Fox Craft

    This easy paper plate craft only has a few simple steps. But don't worry; your kids can still make their foxes look unique with these great ideas:

    • Use a black pop pom for the fox's nose.
    • Stick googly eyes in different shapes to make the fox look funnier.
    • Make the triangle ears with colorful construction paper.
    • If you're using a plain white paper plate, use orange paint or orange marker to color it.
    • Make whiskers with thin strips of black construction paper and stick them on the fox's face.

    Ways to Use the Paper Plate Fox Craft

    Once your kids have finished decorating their foxes, they can do so much with them. Here are a few fun ideas:

    • Stick a peel-and-stick velcro to the back of the fox and attach it to a craft stick. Now your kids can make their fox puppet dance!
    • Glue magnets to the back of the plate and use them on the fridge or any magnetic board.
    • Use them as invites for your kid's fox-themed party.
    • Punch a hole, insert a ribbon, and hang them as decorations in the kid's bedroom.
    • Cut holes for the eyes, attach a ribbon to each side, and make it into a fox mask.

    • Acrylic paint - orange, cream
    • Googly eyes, medium
    • Black cardstock
    • 1” paper punch
    • Scissors
    • Glue stick

    How To Make Fox's Head

    Paint front of paper plate orange

    Paint the front of your paper plate orange.

    *To make this adorable fox craft without paint, simply cut orange paper into a "V" and glue it to the front of the paper plate.

    Once the paint has dried, fold the two bottom corners up creating a "V".

    Fox Ears

    Cut the round top of the paper plate off with a straight cut from the top of each folded corner. Cut two triangles out of the cut-off piece of paper plate.

    Glue the two triangles with the non-painted side facing up, to the back of the fox.

    Using the hole punch, cut a circle out of the black paper. It's also cute if you simply cut the nose out or even cut it in a small heart shape.

    Lastly, glue the nose onto the tip of the V as well as the googly eyes. Easy peasy! You have a simple fox craft!
