Rainbow Crafts For Kids
The kids will love this fun rainbow activity! Not only is this fun for St. Patrick's Day but it's also a great art project to create beautiful rainbows all year long! Perfect for a crafty morning or just a fun way to talk about the colors of the rainbow!
We love craft projects that also offer a fun pot of gold at the end! And I love watching the kids work on their fine motor skills as well. We're all about making a paper plate rainbow craft of other rainbow crafts for kids but I love that this colorful craft is just a tad bit different than the others.
Since rainbows play a big part in bringing happiness and beautiful colors into the home, this craft really is a must! This is a fun craft idea throughout the Spring and Summer times

I'm a big believer in hanging up the kid's crafts as they make them. I love to showcase their artwork and show it off for everyone to see! The kids also love to show it off as well so it's a win-win!
You can easily hang up this rainbow in the window of the home for everyone outside to see or keep it a bit more personal and have it hanging on the fridge instead.
As long as you're displaying it and letting the world see, you can't go wrong! This is the perfect keepsake for St. Patrick's Day and a fun reminder of how easy it is to bring a little brightness into the day!

How to make this Paint Sample Rainbow Craft
What I love about this craft is that it's not hard to do at all and takes minimal craft supplies. Anything that is easy to do and looks great has a vote in my book!
Drawing The Rainbow
First start by drawing seven lines of your rainbow on your paper. It's best to have your child turn their paper horizontally and start with the outside line to make sure they cover most of the paper.
Note: Encourage them to leave space (โ of the paper) on the bottom of the paper to add their clouds.
We encourage seven lines which will result in six sections for the rainbow.
Decorating The Rainbow
Grab your paint samples or scrap paper and any shape hole punches you might have on hand.
For the younger kids, it can be a fun way to learn different shapes by making different shapes for each color.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.
Using a glue stick start placing your shapes and sequins row by row.
We started with the paint sample shapes in the sections.
Next, we added the sequins in between the shapes.
Complete row by row until all rows are completely full
Once each of the rows is filled it is time to add the clouds.
Using craft glue, liberally add glue to the bottom of each end of the rainbow.
Add cotton balls to each of the ends of the rainbow. We approximate each side can take about 8 cotton balls.
Encourage your child that not all the cotton balls have to fit fully on the page. Some can hang off, giving the clouds a more puffy feel.
This rainbow is so bright and sparkly! Display it by adding a magnet to the back on your refrigerator, or hang near a window to watch the sequins sparkle in the sunlight.
