Rocket Crafts for Kids of All Ages
This easy craft is for everyone. The little learners can exercise their fine motor skills when they use scissors to cut rocket ship shapes from a free rocket ship template. They'll also learn to control their hand movement. Since cutting takes time, it'll teach young children how to be patient to get something done right.
Older kids can make their space unit. It includes making a paper rocket craft, a cone shape, and two fins. It'll teach them how to follow instructions while having much fun.
How to Use This Rocket Ship Craft
This fun craft can be an excellent rainy day activity or party fun. Invite your child's friends and have them all make different types of rockets. You'll only have to provide basic supplies like paper plates, construction paper, different colored craft papers, white paint, and empty toilet paper rolls. You can also provide decorative materials like star stickers, glitters, and markers for the finishing touches. I suggest doing the hot glue gun and scissors work yourself. It can be dangerous.
Rocket craft is an easy summer craft that can be used for educational purposes. Here are a few fun craft projects:
- Use the rocket craft as a letter identification game. Each person has to make a rocket and add their initial on it.
- Go stargazing and use the rocket craft to identify different constellations in the night sky.
- Use the rocket craft's small round cutouts, crescent shapes, and half circles to teach basic geometry.
- Cut out the large circle from the printable template to teach basic facts about the solar system.

How To Make A Rocket Craft
Start by painting one of the paper plates gray or colored using a gray crayon.
Next, cut a triangle out of red paper.
Once the paper plate is dry, glue the red triangle to the top of the paper plate.
From another paper plate, cut a portion of it and attach it to the bottom of the paper plate.
This second paper plate can be whatever color you want to make it. If you have another color paper plate, that works great too.
Make the fire at the bottom using different colors of paper– orange, yellow, and light yellow. To make this, cut a circle, fold it then cut
strips in a curvy style.
Make sure that the sizes are different to make a gradient out of it.
Glue them together then add it to the bottom part of the paper plate.
Cut two circles from the blue paper. The bigger one with a darker shade than the smaller one in a lighter color.
Glue the two circles together and then add them to the middle of the paper plate.
