The sun - our very own star that lights up our days. Isn't it a wonder that even though it's millions of miles away, it can warm our faces and brighten our lives? It's perfect for any craft project. Not only is a sun craft fun to make, but it's also a great opportunity to introduce young children to basic science concepts. A sun craft is ideal for fun summer craft sessions, weather units in classrooms, or simply as a fun craft on a lazy afternoon. It's so cheerful and a great way to keep those little hands busy. Plus, with its bright yellow color and radiant sun rays, it’s a great addition to the art wall!

    Simple Crafting for Kids

Crafts have got to be simple! If you’ve got a little kid you know this! It’s gotta be quick and easy and fit between all the dishes and cooking and cleaning and reading and… well you get the idea! With just a handful of supplies like a paper plate, yellow paint, black marker, and some black construction paper, they can create a delightful sun with a happy face! Yay!

Adding a smiley face and maybe even some rosy cheeks or googly eyes to the sun adds a lovely touch of character to it. Let your kids go with the crafting supplies just for a minute! You may be surprised by what they create.

Maybe they'd like to add a popsicle stick at the back of the paper plate to turn their craft into a sun puppet, or perhaps they want to use different shades of yellow for a more textured look. There's no right or wrong way to make art - that's the beauty of it!

    Easy Paper Plate Crafts

Paper plate crafts are popular for a good reason. They're cost-effective and just the right size for little hands to manage. Once painted, the paper plate provides a large circle that's perfect as the sun's face. The edge of the plate can be used as the sun's rays, giving our sun a brilliant, glowing effect.

This adorable sun craft is a great way to welcome the summer season (June, July, and August). It's a perfect craft for younger children, but older kids can enjoy it too. And if you're teaching about the solar system, this craft is a wonderful way to introduce the sun, the star at the center of our solar system. A fun paper plate rocket craft is another fun one too!

Are you ready to bring a little sunshine into your kid’s day? Let's get those paper plates and paint colors out, and let's create some bright sun crafts!
