This Rocket Valentines is an Easy Valentine Craft that is out of this world.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. It's the day in February to celebrate love and relationships. And yes, it's for kids, too!

Make your little bub cutesy Valentine's Day cards, or get them their favorite chocolate. Just make sure to make them a part of this love-filled occasion.

Kids also enjoy making adorable handmade gifts for their parents, grandparents, and friends.

If you're looking for an easy Valentine's Day craft for your child, this Love Rocket Valentine Craft is a great pick.

It's fun to make, looks adorable, and easy to customize.

Plus, you only need basic craft supplies for it, like glue sticks, card stock, and popsicle sticks. You'll easily find the supplies at your nearest dollar store. Use bright colors to make the Valentine Rocket more eye-catching.

    Decorating Fun

Make your rocket Valentine's craft look flashy with glitter, stickers, and pom poms.

Cut small hearts with red construction paper or orange tissue paper and use hot glue to stick them to the rocket. If the kids are doing the sticking bit, use a piece of tape instead. Always put their safety first.

Tying ribbons around the popsicle sticks or at the bottom of the rocket is a fun way to add more colors. Or you can even let them use watercolor paints to create their own galaxy and background for their rocket.

    Rocket Valentine Notes

    Rocket Valentine Notes

Personalize the craft to add your own friendly notes and messages. Rhyming stanzas would be a great addition to the back of the rocket. It's a fun and creative way to express love and appreciation for your loved ones. Kids can use their imagination to develop rhymes that will make everyone smile.

    Here, take inspiration from these:

    • I'm over the moon for you Valentine!
    • Shoot for the stars Valentine!
    • Valentine, you are out of this world!

You can also read Rocket's Leaf Pile with your kids. It's one of the New York Times bestselling picture books. The store is about Rocket, the Canine Star of Tad Hills, who sets on a new adventure to find his secret Valentine. Join Rocket on his search. It'll be so much fun!

How To Make a Valentine Rocket Craft

    glue four popsicle sticks together

Begin by gluing 4 popsicle sticks together per rocket. There are two ways to do this.

    1. Cut two popsicle sticks down to the width of four popsicle sticks. Glue them across the back of the sticks.
    2. Cut a piece of scrap paper to fit the width of the four popsicle sticks and glue it to the back, holding them all together.

*You can also use hot glue too!

    Valentine's Day Rocket Details

paint craft sticks and cut out hearts

Now, paint the front of your rocket in your chosen Valentine's Day colors. We chose red, pink, and light blue for our rockets. Purple would be nice, too. Let the paint dry completely.

Next, punch hearts from the cardstock colors of your choice. If you do not have the heart punch, you can simply draw hearts on different colors of construction paper and cut them out.

While the paint is drying, print the rocket template and cut out the pieces. Trace the two triangles on the cardstock colors of choice and cut them out. Trace the flame on red cardstock and cut it out.

You could use only one of the triangles for the fins of the rocket.

glue smaller triangle on larger triangle for rocket

Or, glue the smaller fin to the middle of the larger fin.

Glue the flame coming out from the bottom of the sticks, too.

glue hearts to front of rocket

Glue the hearts along the rocket.

    add valentine rocket details

Finally, use a metallic marker to draw fun shiny details along the hearts, fins, and flame of the rocket to complete this super cute and easy Valentine's Day craft.

One last thing that we think is great for this craft is to add friendly notes to the back of the rocket. Simply add a note with your paint pens onto the red construction paper you used on the back side to hold the popsicle sticks together or glue it on at the end. Giving these fun Valentine Rocket Ships as gifts is so much fun!
