    Leaf Bowl DIY Supplies

This is a great activity for the kids! With all supplies from the dollar store, you can easily make this with kids of any age.

    • Leaves - Either have the kids collect real leaves, or use artificial leaves from online or even dollar store leaves.
    • A Balloon
    • White Glue or Modpodge
    • A sponge paintbrush
    • Scissors (optional)

Here is how you make the DIY Leaf Bowl.

How To Make A Bowl out of Leaves

    White Balloon

    Blow up the balloon.

    Fall leaves

In the case, there are leaves still on branches, use the scissors to cut the leaves off.

    Glue

For those who are using glue. In a separate bowl, mix equal parts water and glue.  Those using Mod Podge can simply pour it into a usable bowl.

    Creating a leaf bowl

Using the sponge paint brush, apply the glue solution to the balloon.

placing leaves with glue onto a balloon

Then add each leave and liberally apply the glue on top of the leaf to hold it down.

hang balloon with leaf bowl to dry

Continue around the bottom of the balloon till you have the whole bottom covered.

Let it dry completely for 24-48 hours. This is where there is a bit of patience needed. The glue and leaves have to be completely dry!

Pop the balloon and carefully peel the balloon off the bowl.

Can You Use a Bowl instead of a Balloon?

Yes, you can absolutely use a bowl in case you do not have a balloon or do not want to use one. Anything that will give you the bowl shape.

You can use either the inside of the bowl or the outside. I particularly like the outside, but it is your preference.

The first step is to cover the bowl with plastic wrap.

Next, you add the leaves the same as you did above. Leave the bowl with the plastic wrap until it is completely dried.

Peel the leaf bowl off the plastic wrap.
