The Unicorn of the Sea Fun
Narwhals are like the unicorns of the sea because of their long, twisty tusks that can grow up to 10 feet long! The narwhal’s tusk is actually a big tooth, but don't worry, narwhals are very gentle.
They live in the cold Arctic waters near Canada, Greenland, and Russia. Narwhals love to dive really deep—sometimes as deep as 1,500 meters—to find yummy food like fish and squid. They’re also very social and like to hang out in groups called pods, which can be as small as a few narwhals or as big as hundreds!
Another cool thing about narwhals is that scientists think their tusks have lots of uses. Some think narwhals use their tusks to show off, while others believe the tusks help them sense changes in the water, like how salty it is. Not every narwhal has a tusk, though—it's more common for boys than girls.
Narwhals also talk to each other using clicks, whistles, and knocks, which is their special way of navigating through the icy Arctic. These awesome creatures have amazed people for a long time and are still a big mystery of the ocean!

Grab your blue paper and trace the N, the arch piece as well as the tail onto the blue paper. Trace the horn (tusk) onto yellow paper.
Cut out the different pieces of this project. For the white circle, you can use the one straight from the template because you will only need one circle.
Next, using the blue pen (or whatever color you choose), make lines off the tail piece giving it a fish fin feel.
Using the craft glue, glue the blue arch to the front of the N and the tail to the other side of the N.
Next, glue the tusk to the top of the narwhal head.
Using a pen, draw the inside of the narwhal's eye. Of course, you can also use googly eyes if you have them.
Glue the eye to the narwhal head right under the tusk.
With white paint or cutting a piece out of the white paper, paint the bottom part of the narwhal face with white paint. Add a thin stripe outlining the narwhal tail as well.
Cut a small triangle out right above the white for the Narwhal mouth.
Viola, you have an adorable narwhal craft and a letter N craft great for your little learners!
