It's a bright and beautiful day for crafting (at least where I'm at!) and we're all geared up for our next project. What do you think of when you imagine the letter G? Maybe it's a garden, grapes, or a guitar. Well, we're taking a little safari fun crafts turn this time.
We're stepping into the wild, celebrating the tallest mammals on earth - yes, it's a G for Giraffe Craft Day! This fun way of learning brings the African savannah and African animals right into our homes or classrooms.
The Wild World of Animal Crafts
This fun creation is going to add a touch of wildlife, a dash of fun, and loads of learning. And the best part? You can make this cute giraffe craft using some basic supplies that you probably already have at home. Yellow construction paper, orange construction paper, a black marker, and a glue stick!

Letter G Craft Supplies
- Letter G Free Printable Template (at bottom of post)
- Construction Paper or Card Stock (Yellow, Orange)
- Pencil
- Marker
- Craft Glue or Glue Stick
- Scissors
How To Make G is For Giraffe
Here are the step-by-step instructions for the G is For Giraffe
Start with printing out the Giraffe Template and cut out each of the pieces from the template. Place the G on the yellow construction paper and the other three pieces on the orange construction paper and trace with a pencil.
Cut out each of the template pieces in the different color paper.
Giraffe Head
Using a black marker, make a simple giraffe face on the oval-shaped piece with a flat top of the head.
*If you have small googly eyes, feel free to glue those on the giraffe.
Glue the giraffe's face to the top of the letter G. Then glue the cloud shape orange template piece to the middle of the head as hair.
Next, glue the second orange hair two-prong piece under the cloud shape and poking out the top.
The last step is to cut out small pieces from the orange paper in different shapes. Glue them along the G piece as the giraffe spots. Cut off any excess paper from the G shape.
Viola here is your own giraffe craft. Who doesn't love a funny cartoon animal? We're here for the cute giraffe!
